On-site Assistant Box Office Manager :
King Tut exhibition @ the Atlanta Civic Center.
- Assist in managing on-site ticket sales and will call for Tutankhamun The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs.
- On-site box office leadership representative. Accordingly, will lead training, supervision and scheduling of box office staff with Box Office Manager.
- Balance staff's daily banks/drawers and reconcile all daily box office sales at the end of each shift.
- Work with exhibition management to implement and enforce exhibition policies and procedures.
- In absence of Box Office Manager, interface with Ticketmaster for equipment upkeep while TM equipment is on-site for the exhibition.
- Update barcoding information and supplies daily reports to exhibition management in absence of Box Office Manager.
- Assist Box Office Manager with maintenance of holds on daily audits as necessary for preparation of daily financial settlement.
Interview process
AEI is collecting resumes for this position and will begin the interview process in August. The Assistant Box Office Manager will begin full time employment in November.
Details of the position
Pay- $15.00/hour
Hours of work
The exhibition operates 7 days per week from approximately 9am-5pm. Box office management should be on-site 1 hour prior to the first entry time, and have the box office open for sales ½ hour prior to the first entry time. Box office management must be on-site 8 hours per day; weekends and holidays are required, however, an assistant box office manager will be recruited and the management team will be expected to rotate shifts fairly and appropriately. Management is expected to identify a number of strong supervisors who will receive training to take on the role of manager on duty in the absence of senior box office leadership. The schedule will be determined in coordination with the on-site exhibition management to ensure all needs are met.
Minimum Requirements
- 2 years Ticketmaster experience
- 2 years leadership experience in a box office that operates with Ticketmaster- includes daily reconciliation of box office receipts and daily financial reporting.
- Microsoft Excel (manipulating and creating spreadsheets), Microsoft Word, Outlook for Email
- Strong ability to multi-task, identify and ask appropriate questions, prioritize and take direction.
- Self motivated worker who doesn't require constant supervision. Is able to facilitate and organize tasks without direction. Is able to incorporate requested tasks into schedule.
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with ticketing systems in addition to Ticketmaster- ex: Vista, Raiser's Edge, Paciolan, etc.

Position Available:
The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is seeking a skilled professional with ticket sales and/or retail experience to serve as Box Office Manager of the 9th Annual Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (January 14-25, 2009). Estimated attendance: 18,000. Responsibilities include research and development of ticketing systems and policies; data entry to support web-based ticketing; training and supervision of box office support staff and volunteers; management and fulfillment of advance and onsite ticket sales by web and phone; oversight of ticket inventory; and post-fest ticketing expense and revenue reports. Estimated 70 hours in pre-fest planning (August-November); 340 hours in support of ticket sales (December-January); 40 hours in post-fest activities (February).

Job opening at Universoul Circus. Box Office Ticket Seller
The UniverSoul Circus is seeking to hire Box Office Ticket Sellers immediately. Responsibilities include balancing cash receipts and tickets at the beginning and end of each shift, and working tactfully with the general public in regard to ticket sale difficulties. Duties are performed according to standard ticket handling procedures with supervision available to assist with unusual problems. The individual is supervised by the Box Office Ticket Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Counts, stores and racks admission tickets according to events and performance dates
Sells admission tickets to the general public over the counter, by mail order, and telephone reservation;
Operates computerized ticketing machines by entering information into a keyboard and loading tickets and replacing ribbons on a ticket printer;
Balances cash receipts and unsold tickets to ensure ticket accuracy and security;
Provides information in person or by telephone regarding time schedules, location of events, and various pricing and seating arrangements;
Explains box office policies, answers questions, and resolves routine problems regarding ticket sales;
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of bookkeeping and payment handling.
Knowledge of Ticketmaster ticketing systems is a plus
Ability to:
Prepare simple financial records regarding cash receipts and ticket sales.
Make mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
Communicate in the English language by phone or in person in a one- to-one or group setting.
